  • Wittenberg Names Wolford Women's Lacrosse Coach
    October 05, 2017
    Wittenberg Athletics has announced the hiring of Margaret Wolford as the Tigers next women's lacrosse head coach, and the eighth in school history. Wolford comes to Wittenberg after serving most recently as the offensive coordinator and goalkeepers coach at NCAA Division I Saint Francis University in Loretto, Pennsylvania.
  • Fugate Named Kenyon Lacrosse Coach

    Peter Smith, Kenyon College's Director of Athletics, Physical Education and Recreation, announced Friday the hiring of Jess Fugate as head coach of the Ladies lacrosse program. Fugate comes to Kenyon via NCAA Division I Colgate University. She takes over for Meredith Buzzi, who resigned in May after ten seasons and a combined record of 100-54.

  • Denison's Ludlow Named IWLCA All-American

    Denison senior midfielder Claire Ludlow (Saugatuck, MI/East Grand Rapids) was named to the 2017 Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) All-American Squad as a third-team selection. 2017 marks the second consecutive year that Ludlow has been named to the IWLCA’s All-American squad and she becomes the fifth player in program history to earn multiple All-American honors.
  • NCAC Places 14 On All-Great Lakes Region Squad

    The North Coast Athletic Conference was well represented on the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) All-Region selections, released on May 12th. A total of 14 NCAC student-athletes were named to one of the two All-Great Lakes Region Teams.

    Denison saw it successful season come to a close in the second-round of the NCAA Tournament as the Big Red fell to No. 19 Brockport, 17-7, on Sunday afternoon at Piper Stadium in Granville, Ohio.

    Denison senior attack Claire Ludlow (East Grand Rapids, MI/East), Allegheny senior midfielder Jessie Thiessen (Pittsburgh, PA/Fox Chapel) and Oberlin senior goalie Alexa L'Insalata (Plainsboro Twp., NJ/West Windsor-Plainsboro North) have been named the Players of the Year to highlight the 2017 All-North Coast Athletic Conference women's lacrosse selections.

    The Denison University women’s lacrosse team (15-3) earned its 11th NCAC title after defeating Oberlin (14-2), 15-10, on Saturday, May 6th, in the 2017 NCAC Women’s Lacrosse Tournament championship game in Granville, Ohio.
  • DU Captures 4th-Straight Tourney Crown

    Top-seeded Denison (15-3) scored the first six goals of the game and never looked back en route to posting a 15-10 victory over second-seeded Oberlin (14-2) in the championship of the 2017 NCAC Women’s Lacrosse Tournament to give the Big Red their fourth-straight tournament title and league-leading 11th all-time.

The Terriers were led by senior Autumn Osgood (Hyde Park, VT/Lamoille Union) after she became the first in program history to reach 100 career goals. Action continues this week with three conference games scheduled on Saturday as Wittenberg (0-0, 5-2) visits DePauw (0-0, 2-1), Oberlin (0-0, 5-0) travels to Wooster (0-0, 4-1) and Ohio Wesleyan (0-0, 2-3) hosts Hiram (0-0, 2-1).

    Oberlin has gotten off to its second-straight 3-0 start and the third time in the last four years after defeating Otterbein, 19-4, on Thursday. The Yeowomen have outscored their opponents, 58-8, to open the season, led by junior Natalie Rauchle (Edina, MN/Edina) with 12 goals. Non-Conference play continues this week with all nine North Coast squads in action.
