The 2022 NCAC Men's Tennis Championship concluded on Sunday afternoon at the Denison Tennis Courts in Granville, Ohio. No. 13 Denison (22-3) captured its second-consecutive and 14th-overall league championship with a 5-3 victory over No. 25 Kenyon (13-8) in the championship match. 

Denison defeated Allegheny, 5-0, in the quarterfinals on Friday and advanced to the championship match with a 5-0 win over Wooster on Saturday afternoon. Kenyon mapped its way through the championship bracket with a 5-0 victory over Ohio Wesleyan in the quarterfinals and a 5-2 win over DePauw in the semifinals on Saturday afternoon.

Sunday's action also included DePauw defeating Wooster, 5-0, in the third-place match, while Saturday's consolation matches featured Oberlin winning 5-1 over Wittenberg in the fifth-place match and Allegheny capturing seventh place with a 5-0 victory over Ohio Wesleyan. 

As conference champions, Denison has earned the league's automatic bid into the 2022 NCAA Division III Men's Tennis Tournament. The NCAA Division III field will be announced on Monday, May 9, on


The higher seeds held in the semifinals after day two of competition at the 2022 NCAC Men's Tennis Championships on Saturday.

In the semifinals match ups, Kenyon claimed a 5-2 victory over DePauw and Denison earned a 5-0 win over Wooster. Oberlin captured a 5-1 victory over Wittenberg to claim fifth place in the tournament, while Allegheny defeated Ohio Wesleyan, 5-0, to take seventh-place.

On Sunday, DePauw will compete against Wooster for third-place, while Denison and Kenyon will meet in the finals. The NCAC Champion will earn the conference's automatic berth into the NCAA Division III tournament.   


The higher seeds held after the first day of competition of the 2022 NCAC Men's Tennis Championships on Friday.

In the quarterfinals, both of the No. 1 seeds, Kenyon in the East and Denison in the West, claimed 5-0 victories over the No. 4 seeds, as the Lords defeated Ohio Wesleyan (West) and the Big Red won against Allegheny (East). DePauw, the No. 2 seed in the West, recorded a 5-2 victory over Oberlin, the No. 3 seed in the East, and Wooster, the No. 2 seed in the East, claimed a 5-0 win over Wittenberg, the No. 3 seed in the West.

In the semifinals on Saturday, Kenyon will compete against DePauw and Denison will take on Wooster. Other matches of the day will include Oberlin playing Wittenberg in the fifth-place match while Ohio Wesleyan and Allegheny will compete for seventh-place.

On Sunday, the non-advancing semifinal teams will compete for third-place, while the winners of the semifinals will meet in the finals with the winner earning the NCAC's automatic berth into the NCAA Division III tournament. 


The 2022 NCAC Men’s Tennis Championships will be held this weekend, April 22-24, at Denison University in Granville, Ohio. The tournament begins with quarterfinal matches on Friday, semifinal and fifth- and seventh-place matches on Saturday and the championship and third-place matches on Sunday. The first two days will begin with matches at 11:00 a.m. and conclude with matches at 1:30 p.m. The championship and third-place match are scheduled for Noon on Sunday.

The No. 1 seed in the NCAC West Division, Denison (19-3, 4-0 NCAC), will play the No. 4 seed in the East, Allegheny (6-9, 0-3 NCAC), while DePauw (11-8, 3-1 NCAC), the West Division’s second seed, will meet the East Division’s third seed, Oberlin (6-12, 1-2 NCAC). In the other two opening-round matches, the East Division’s No. 1 seed, Kenyon (11-7, 3-0 NCAC) will take on the No. 4 seed in the West Division, Ohio Wesleyan (6-13, 1-3 NCAC), while Wooster (11-7, 2-1 NCAC), the East’s No. 2-seed will meet up with the No. 3 seed in the West in Wittenberg (6-10, 2-2 NCAC).

2022 NCAC Men's Tennis Championship Format

Regular-season divisional conference play shall be used to seed the tournament. The number one seed in the West Division will play the number four seed in the East; #2 West vs. #3 East; #3 West vs. #2 East; and #4 West vs. #1 East. The tournament (team format with consolation) shall be single elimination with consolation matches played out to six places.

The winner of the championship match will claim the 2022 NCAC Championship and also earn the conference's automatic berth into the NCAA Division III Tournament.
